Hi, my name is Andrew Weltchek. I’m a partner at the law firm of Cohen, Hochman, and Allen in New York City. I represent individuals and businesses who have property in New York and have problems. They need to close the deal, negotiate a contract, resolve a dispute, go to court, do whatever it takes to maintain their property and that a lawyer can help. People in New York who own property have problems. They call me and I can help them.
Now the question before the house today is ‘How? How are you going to come to see me or any other lawyer for that matter?’ We are hopefully safe and sanitized. Our family and loved ones we hope are doing well, and we’re thinking about coming back to work. Not that we haven’t been working but working together, working in the city. How are we going to do that? Well, the answer is the same way all we always did, but with some extra added ingredients like, for instance, zoom, like watching this video.
I’m going to continue to maintain contact with my clients and colleagues this way, no matter what. Very often it saves you time and money to not have to schlep into the city and I’m welcome and eager to meet with you any way you want. When it comes time to actually sign things, we can exchange that electronically as well.
There are other times when you’re gonna need to actually physically bring something or share something or be in the presence of each other, come to my office or somewhere else, and then you’re going to have to follow the normal safety rules.
Bring your mask. Stay far apart. Wear gloves. I don’t think it’s a good idea to plan on driving. The subways are going to have to be a means of transit and in my humble opinion, I think folks will hopefully be responsible about staying apart. And if in fact it’s too crowded, okay, choose to look at the glass is have full. That means that there’s activity in business and people are making a living, and that’s a good thing.
But in any case, you can always reach me at my cell number at 973 223 4567. Andrew Weltchek, partner at Cohen Hochman and Allen, and I look forward to seeing you in the future.
